CHINA is a land of history and refinement unparalleled in the world. Attentive visitors are immersed in a sea of visual and cultural experiences unlike any other they may have had elsewhere. Each geographic area in China teems with its own identity as an energetic variation on the great theme of Chinese civilization. You will be amazed at how regions differ vastly yet express similar values and ideas.
Explore the capital of the country, Beijing. Enjoy an exploration of the beauty of the imperial city and meetings with urban Chinese residents. Discover the splendor of China’s glorious past at the Great Wall. Also witness the dynamic and ever-changing life pace in today’s capital of China.
Xining lies in the eastern part of Qinghai-Tibet plateau, and the upper reaches of Shuang Shui River. The City of Xining acts as one of the major gateways to the Tibetan Plateau. It is an ancient highland city on the Yellow River which offers many scenic spots and historical sites.
Tibet is the mystical roof of the world. This holy city of Lhasa draws many different kinds of visitors, from sightseers to mountaineers, scholars to trekkers. The Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Drepung, Ganden and Sera Monasteries house the sacred treasures, some of which date back to the 15th century. Your sightseeing in the historic towns of Gyangze and Shigatse will allow you to experience authentic Tibetan life and culture unspoiled by modernization. The Gyangze Dzong, Kumbum, and Tashilumpo Monastery are awe inspiring spiritual sites to explore.
Your private guide and driver will have you venture higher into the fabled Himalayas to Tingri, at 14,000 feet the gateway to the world’s tallest peaks. The literal highpoint of your tour will be traveling to Mt. Everest Scenic Zone at close to 17,000 feet. Behold the world’s highest peak in clear weather from just a few miles away.
Your Tibetan Himalaya tour ends in Shanghai, China’s most populous city and economic powerhouse. The European Bund still retains the glamour of the colonial era; modern shopping malls, Chinese specialty stores, western pubs and bars, and boutique shops scatter all around the center of Shanghai.
